A Customer Relations Management (CRM) system can be a mystery and a challenge; with the right setup, it can be a time saver and a great business development tool. At the June WIN breakfast, CRM expert Juan Ramirez of ZoomingSales CRM gave members and guests valuable information on how a CRM system can meet the needs of virtually every kind of business. His presentation, Supercharge Your Sales Process: Using a CRM to Grow Your Business, also provided great tips for selecting a CRM system.
CRMs track and manage leads, prospects, and customers but work best when they are customized to your type business and your workflow process. Before you start looking for the perfect system, be sure to write down exactly what you want it to do. Lead Generation, Customer Management, Marketing, Customer Service and Vendor Management are different areas where a CRM system should be able to support your business:
Here are some questions Juan shared on what to ask when looking for a CRM system:
- Is it easy to use – intuitive?
- Is it customizable?
- Can I do it myself?
- Does it integrate with components I already use?
- Will it grow with my business?
- Who will be helping me get to get it customized to my business?
- Do they have business expertise?
